It is particularly challenging to explain PhD research to family and friends, especially in an abstract field such as Computer Science. In the following blog post I will try to explain my PhD, freed from academic precision and more from the big picture and with plenty of examples.
The cabinet of Germany has the plan to publish the drafts of laws and associated position papers of the lobbies. This should be done for more than 600 laws of the past 4 years. This transparency can reveal a lot. For instance, which Lobby influenced which law actively. Nearly 17,000 documents are planned to be published. But how can one handle this huge amount?
Having Provenance or not having it, that could be worth than several hundred million dollar. Where does something come from, how was it changed since it exists, that is provenance. These informations help human beings to asses things. Which questions need to be answered and what is my role as computer scientists in this research field?!
